Ash Wednesday – March 1st

Everyone is welcome at our Ash Wednesday services:

1.15pm – Holy Communion with Ashing

7.00pm – Choral Eucharist with Ashing (including music by Gibbons and Palestrina)

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent, a season of penitence and reflection in which we are invited to renew our commitment to God and grow in faith, wisdom and love. Our foreheads are marked with ash in the shape of a cross, as a sign that the mercy of God meets us in all our human frailty. ‘While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.’ (Romans 5.8)
